common root

I am interested in finding out what elements of corporations people most commonly find unjust.
Do you think there is a valid reason for the existence of corporations?
How do you understand the evolution of the corporate form?
What do you think of LLC permissions?
Does the existence of corporatism have a formative influence of the shape of our moral imaginations? How?
Are churches like corporations is some ways? Different?

All responses are of value to me.
Thanks!

See: movie "The Corporation," and the book it is based on by Joel Bakan. It should be in your local library.

Thanks, Nate,
I have reviewed portions of The Corporation. I am interested in learning how individuals perceive and understand the corporation. I'd like your personal responses to the above questions. I will look at the film again, though, at your recommendation.

Well, this is a mixed bag for me.

I take issue with the personhood given to corporations. I also have issues with publicly traded corporations and fiduciary duty laws with the combination generally meaning that publicly traded companies can't have any interest other than making money.

The mix is that I own my own business. It is setup as an LLC because it makes sense from a business/tax perspective. I understand the value in these things.

That said, my small business is a whole world apart from multi-national corporations which is the scale that most people have issues with.

Is that the type of thing you were looking for?
