common root

It's been great to hear about the recent Common Root gathering, but it wasn't very convenient if you live across the pond! But if like me you live in the UK and have somehow stumbled across the Common Root and have shared values, then you might find the UK based Speak network a useful connecting point (you may already know about it?) For more info, check out their website: www.speak.org.uk

They have their national gathering in a weeks time in London called Soundcheck. If you are going it would be great to hook up with you there, if you aren't then it's well worth considering (it's a high point of my year!) Ron Sider will be sharing some thoughts with us, but most of the time will be given over to sharing stories and dreaming dreams of how we can (to borrow a phrase!) follow Jesus and seek shalom in the shadow of empire. Again there's loads more info on their website about the event.

Hope to see you there.

Thanks Martin

I was one of those who enjoyed hearing about the Common Root gathering but couldn't find cash or time to cross the pond. I've come across Speak before and liked a lot of their stuff. For those of us though, who are coming at things from a rather more Anabaptist direction I think the Anabaptist Network site is the best initial port of call: http://www.anabaptistnetwork.com

Shalom,

Phil
