We're doing well here in Harper. It's definitely a small town with all of the politics and issues that that brings. In the last couple of weeks I've stumbled across some more of the history with a couple of the big power families in my church. There's a lot of baggage there. oh well, there's always room for redemption I guess.
On the white and male thing, what are your thoughts on that? I think that I have some ideas as to why but I want to hear your perspective before I put that out there.
This issue is one thing that gives me significant pause. I'm pretty excited at times about some of the renewal movements. I'm also aware that for all the talk of openness and inclusion, it's not translating into any different demographics. I'm also concerned that being a white male that I'm only able to see parts of the issue and situation. Structure matters a lot and if that's not new, then......
speaking of structure, from following the Emergent Village blog it looks like they're doing some re-structuring at the top. I know Tony Jones left as national coordinator this last year and they've been working on how to move forward. After 10 years or so it'll be interesting to see how that group shifts and changes as it matures a little bit.

good to see you in this community. It's an interesting one. Although, not tremendously huge, I've found it to be interestingly diverse (at least religiously) (as with a lot of these new forms of christianity it seems to be white and male......I still haven't figured that out yet) anyways, It's good to see you. How's everything going in your new job?
